Deception Pass State Park was fantastic; full of old growth trees and ferns, and plenty of wild birds. (My sister was convinced the screaming heron swooping overhead was a pterodactyl.) After climbing to higher elevations, a few the trails had some dangerous dropoffs, while offering spectacular views. Watch your footing!
I was on the ferry, sailing back to Whidbey Island, when I caught the sun hovering just above the clouds.
